Under the new schedule, flights will depart from Hong Kong every Monday, while return services from Navi Mumbai will operate on the same day, providing a dedicated weekly cargo link between the two destinations.
Announcing the new route, Hong Kong Air Cargo said that establishing an early footprint at Western India's brand-new aviation hub would reinforce its regional network and open lucrative trade corridors between East and South Asia.
To support its expansion in the rapidly growing Indian cargo market, the airline recently appointed Aeroprime as its General Sales and Service Agent (GSSA) in India. The partnership is expected to strengthen the airline's commercial presence and enhance cargo operations across the country.
Alongside its expansion into India, Hong Kong Air Cargo has steadily grown its European network, driven in part by strong demand from the e-commerce sector. However, cargo volumes between Hong Kong, a major global e-commerce hub, and Europe have declined sharply in recent weeks following the European Union's introduction of a charge on e-commerce packages.
The airline began its European operations in October 2023 with the launch of services to Milan Malpensa. It continued its expansion in February 2024 by introducing a new route to Liege in Belgium, followed by the addition of Oslo, Norway, in September 2024.
The United Kingdom has emerged as a key market in the airline's European strategy. Hong Kong Air Cargo commenced services to London Stansted in February 2024 before expanding to Birmingham in October 2024. The airline further strengthened its UK presence by launching flights to Glasgow Prestwick in February 2025 and beginning operations at East Midlands Airport in November 2025.
Most recently, in February, Hong Kong Air Cargo launched scheduled services to Larnaca International Airport in Cyprus, further extending its European footprint despite evolving market conditions.
The launch of the Navi Mumbai route reflects Hong Kong Air Cargo's broader strategy of expanding its international cargo network while strengthening trade connectivity across key markets in Asia and Europe. The new service is expected to enhance freight movement between Hong Kong and Western India while reinforcing the airline's position in the competitive global air cargo industry.
